2 Peter 3:18 Our mission with the guidance of the Holy Spirit is to seek and proclaim the sacred scripture and to educate our families in faith formation through the preparation of the Holy Sacraments.  As Jesus quoted in Matthew 19:14:“Let the children come to me and do not stop them because the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”  Our ministry is to assist families in fulfilling the universal church’s mission to evangelize and catechize our parents and their children.  Through support and training of our catechetical leaders and catechists, we are prepared to nurture the catholic faith to our parish children.  Religious Formation begins with grade 1 with on-going formation to receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation.

THANK YOU TO MARYANN DEMPSEY

Mrs. Dempsey began as Coordinator of Religious Education at the Church of the Presentation July 1, 1996. Since 2013 she assumed her current position at Saint Anthony Church with the children of both parishes. We are grateful for her dedication and faithful service over the years and ask for God’s blessings upon her in the future. The future direction of the program will be forthcoming.

 

CONFIRMATION CLASS OF 2018

We extend our congratulations to the following candidates who will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation on Sunday, May 20th at Saint Anthony Church.  May God’s Holy Spirit fill their minds and hearts with every necessary   blessing to strengthen their commitment to Jesus Christ.  May their example be a source of inspiration for their younger brothers and sisters of our parish family.

FIRST COMMUNION PICTURES & VIDEO

These are available for the April 29th First Communion only. Kindly call the office at 353-5215 to make arrangements to pick them up. The May 6th First   Communion are not yet available.

 

ATTENTION PARENTS—CLASSES FOR UPCOMING FALL REGISTRATION 2018-2019

Registration forms have been sent to all families whose children (grade 3 to Confirmation II) attended classes this past year.  Kindly return forms by June 30, 2018.

 

FIRST EUCHARIST (SEPTEMBER) – GRADE 2

Registration will take place with Sr. Carol at a forthcoming parent meeting.  Parents will be notified.

 

PARENTS OF STUDENTS ENTERING GRADE 1 IN          SEPTEMBER

Please contact the Religious Education Office, 353-5215, to register their child or children for September classes.

 

CATHOLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS GRADE 2 to GRADE 9 IN SEPTEMBER

Parents of children in grade 2 (attended Catholic School in grade 1) and children entering grade 9 who are or have been attending Catholic School are to contact the Religious Education Office to register their children for classes.  Confirmation preparation begins in grade 9.

 

PARENTS OF ANY STUDENT ENTERING GRADE 3 AND UP

If you have not received the Sacrament of the Eucharist (First Communion) please contact the Religious Education office to register for classes, 353-5215.  To avoid confusion, these students have not attended classes this past school year.

 

RCIA for Children

If any parent has a child in grade 3 and up who has not received the Sacrament of First Eucharist and who has not previously been enrolled in our Rel. Ed. classes, please contact the Rel. Ed. Office to register his/her child’s name.

 

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEWLY INITIATED

CRITERIA FOR BAPTISMAL SPONSOR FORMS

The parish office receives many requests for sponsor forms throughout the year for people who have been asked to be Godparents for Baptism, as well as sponsors for Confirmation. To clarify the policy on Sponsor Forms:

 

  1. A sponsor must be at least 16 years of age and have received the sacrament of Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation.

  2. A sponsor must be a registered participating member of the parish and attending Mass on a regular basis for a minimum of six months.

  3. A sponsor must be single or married according to the Law of the Roman Catholic Church

Our Religious Education classes are as follows:

Grs. 1, 3-6 are on Monday evenings 6-7 pm and Tuesday afternoon 3:45 to 4:45 p.m      

Gr. 2 (First Eucharist Program) Monday evenings 6 to 7 p.m.

Grs. 7-8 and Confirmation I and II  Sunday mornings from 10:00 to 11:15 a.m. followed by Mass at 11:30 a.m.
